Location:  San Jose, CA

AICC, a division of Amphenol, is the technology and market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market.  Our focus has broadened to include consumer products, automotive and various industrial vertical market segments.  AICC products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM’s globally.  Our group headquarters is located in Nashua, NH with additional design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team.


The Business Development Representative is responsible for working directly with customers and local sales/technical teams to identify, develop, and capture business opportunities for the Mezzanine and Ardent Concepts Product Group. Close alignment with Product Management and Engineering to help guide strategic product roadmap development and build customer forecasts and budgets. Work closely with local Sales and Field Applications Engineering Teams to develop opportunity funnel and drive growth.

  • Support Regional Sales team by bringing product knowledge support to sales through the discovery and design win phases to win new business and acquire new customers.
  • Be the Mezzanine and Ardent Concepts Product Group first contact and both technical & business resource in the region for new business development activities. Understand detailed, technical requirements and help to provide the best technical solution from the business unit. 
  • Train and update Field Application Engineers, Sales on current portfolio of products, new products and road map
  • Support the execution of top new business opportunities and incremental opportunities in the region. Stay up to date on the progress of the customer’s design efforts and provide support to ensure Amphenol interconnects are designed into their final product.
  • Support quote request process by identifying target pricing and pain points.
  • Coordinate Sales and/or Customer’s requirements with Product Management and Operations to support proposal execution and other various information requests from the field.
  • Identify target customers and opportunities; work with sales to identify and win over decision makers.
  • Work with local Sales to develop account level and regional forecasts.
  • Establish close contacts with factories and product managers.
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, industry events and stay apprised of competitor activity
  • Supporting distribution channel business needs


  • Education: BS degree in Engineering or Marketing with related Business and Marketing experience.  MBA a plus.
  • Technical knowledge/competency in interconnect (or related) solutions
    • Semiconductor, PCB, passive electronic component or other electro mechanical experience also relevant
  • Strong financial, marketing and business skills.
  • Comfortable working with multiple levels of the organization and with all functional groups.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Finance or Engineering disciplines.
  • Past roles: Product Design, Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel required (primarily in Western U.S.)
